We had the honor of creating the video and web components to “Belonging 2021” Presented by R.A.C.E. Matters SLO. As part of the“We Are Here” exhibition that featured portraits by Eric Deshawn Lerma, we documented the behind the scenes process as well as created profile pieces for each of the 11 San Luis Obispo County participants.
We are a group of BIPOC & queer creatives fostering community through action and mixed media storytelling.

A NEW BEGINNING
As we transitioned away from weddings and family photography doing this COVID related piece for the city was nice validation to continue exploring how we can serve the community.
VIrtual Dia de los Muertos
VIDEO SERIES
Working with Wilshire Hospice we created a 3 part series to give exposure to the sacred Mexican holiday as the event went virtual for 2020.
BELONGING 2021
MINI DOCUMENTARY
Working with RACE Matters to document the behind the scenes process as they photograph locals replicating the same photography process as Frederick Douglass.
MULTIMEDIA EXPERIENCE
Once the portraits are installed around Downtown SLO, viewers will be able to scan a QR code to access an interview of the subject and hear about their experiences living in SLO.

Being able to experience what our community is doing isn’t always accessible, but having event coverage and recaps can help folks stay engaged.

For a lot of individuals and groups, one of the issues we’ve seen is human power and limited skill set. With so many opportunities available to directly support the community, it would be amazing to use our skill set to help promote these efforts and ramp up engagement.
